CRCL: New Isle Tree Planting 04.04.24

Volunteer Event Registration & Waiver

New Isle Cypress Tree Planting

Gray, LA

Thursday, April 4th, 2024

9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL) invites you to join us for a tree planting at The New Isle!

The New Isle is the country’s first federally funded resettlement project for communities threatened by climate change. The project resettled residents of Isle de Jean Charles including many members of the Isle de Jean Charles Band of Biloxi-Chitimacha-Choctaw Indians.

With your help, CRCL will plant 1,500 native trees near the New Isle Community Center to help restore the ecology of the site from degraded fallow sugarcane fields to forested wetlands.

Not sure what to expect? Watch this short video!
